Common Good
Moving from 'I' to a 'we'
Common Good Tacoma is a multiracial organizing hub that works in anti-racist coalition with neighbors and organizations that support and promote the dignity of impacted populations.
In 2019, this small congregation gathered to inquire about its future. Yes, they carried on the important legacy of Wesleyan values and a commitment to social justice, but the burden of caretaking an immense building and few people to share the work, dimmed its possibilities of meaningful impact.
Common Good Tacoma is a grassroots, community-controlled coalition that emerged from FUMCOT's desire to be a community of communities. Monthly coalition meetings take place on 4th Thursdays of the month at 5:30pm.
Our physical space is often a meeting place for community events, rehearsals, and organizing trainings. If you are interested in learning more about our values and how your organization can collaborate in our shared space, please contact us at admin@fumcot.org or learn more about the use of space.
